warn that vape can still damage lungs, hearts, and even brains especially for young people. While e-cigarettes contain fewer harmful chemicals than regular cigarettes, they often include nicotine, which is addictive.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says there’s mounting evidence of vaping’s negative
health effects. Plus, illegal vapes with harmful chemicals or drugs, like cannabis, are aVapin growing problem.

Cigarettes are packed with tobacco, tar, and toxic chemicals that cause cancer. Smoking is
still the top reason for preventable deaths in the UK, with half of lifelong smokers dying early.
That’s why quitting smoking is so important. Vapes are the most effective tool for quitting smoking, and beating nicotine patches and
gum. People who get help while using them is twice as likely to stop smoking. But
remember, vaping is recommended only for adults who are trying to quit cigarettes not for
non-smokers.

Fewer people smoke in the UK—only about 12% of the population in 2023. But as smoking rates have dropped, juuling has risen, especially among young adults. About 5.1 million people in the UK now use e-cigarettes, with the highest rate among 16-24-year-olds.
There’s also a worrying trend: more non-smokers are picking up vapes. By 2023, over a million people in England were vaping despite never being regular smokers.
